Agnivansha
The Bhavishya Purana version of the legend begins with the puranic legend wherein Parashurama, an avatar of Vishnu, exterminated the traditional Rajputs of the land. Later, the legend says, sage Vasishta performed a great Yajna or fire-sacrifice, to seek from the gods a provision for the defense of righteousness on earth. In answer to his prayer, a youth arose from the Agnikunda or fire-altar—the first Agnivanshi Rajput. According to different versions of the legend, Rajput clans originated from the Agnikunda.

Giving Axe to Lord Ganesha
Having Finished His Work With Axe On Earth - Parashurama also went to visit Shiva but the way was blocked by Ganesha saying that the Lord was resting at that
time in the inner chambers, and that he might wait for a few minutes till he
(Ganesh) could go and obtain permission from the father. Parasuram argued that
it was not necessary for an ardent disciple tike him to obtain prior permission
from the revered Teacher and that he just wanted to go in, prostrate at His
feet and come back. But Ganesh did not yield. A wordy duel brew up, developed
into a scuffle and deteriorated into a real fight.

Ganesha Lifted Parshurama with his Tusk to Topmost Sphere of Spiritual Abode- There Parashurama Was Able to See Golok Vrindavan With Radha and Krishna
Parashurama threw the axe at him and Ganesha, knowing it had been given by Shiva, ganesh allowed to cut off one of his tusks
The goddess Parvati (wife of Shiva), on finding her son's tusk being cut, filled with rage and declared that if Parashurama's thirst for Kshatriya's blood was still not over, she would put a stop to it and teach him a final lesson; she would sever both of his arms and kill him. The Goddess Parvati then took a form of Shakti (the Goddess Durga) and thus became the ultimate source of Power who no other divine power could resist or match.

Lord Shiva arrived at the scene and pacified Parvati after convincing not to harm Parashurama as he is also like her son in a way and she should forgive him as a Mother should forgive her child’s mistake.Parashurama also asked for his forgiveness. Parvati finally forgives Parashurama at the request of Ganesha.
Parashurama then gave his divine axe to Ganesha and blessed him.

Sandals and Umberla
“O Pitamaha! Generally, during Pitru ceremonies, chappals and umbrellas are given in charity to Brahmins. Why chappals and umbrellas are chosen for charity. Kindly explain.” asked Dharmaja.
“O Dharmaja! In this connection, I narrate a conversation between Sun and Saint Jamadagni. Once Jamadagni along with his wife Renuka, went far away from their Ashram for a stroll. Jamadagni was holding his bow and Renuka was holding the arrows pouch. While Jamadagni was releasing arrows from his bow, Renuka was collecting the arrows.
This went on upto midday. Sun was shining bright and hot in the middle of the sky. During that hot son, there was some delay in bringing the arrows.
“Why so much delay?” asked Jamadagni.
“The sun is hot. My feet are burning. Hence I stood under a tree for a while. Hence the delay.” replied Renuka.
Jamadagni grew angry. “What! Sun caused your feet burning and pained you. I will teach a lesson to Sun. I will cover the entire Sun with my arrows.” roared Jamadagni.
Sun heard these words and arrived there under the guise of a Brahmin. “O Saint Jamadagni! kindly subside your anger against Sun” requested the Brahmin (Sun).
“Go away. I will pull down the Sun from sky to earth” said Jamadagni.
“O Saint! You are a saint. How can you get anger! Due to the heat of Sun only, the waters in the Seas are transformed into clouds and giving us water in the form of rain. Otherwise, how can we get drinking water and water for cultivation. Therefore, heat of sun is a must.” said Brahmin (Sun). But Jamadagni was not convinced. Then Sun appeared before Jamadagni in his original form.
“O saint Jamadagni! I am Sun. Kindly excuse me if any wrong is committed by me. Kindly receive these two things. These are umbrella and chappals. These two things protect humans from hot sun. If chappals and umbrellas are given to brahmins, attainment of Punya is certain.”said Sun. Jamadagni was very happy.
Dharmaja! in that manner, umbrella and chappals were created by Sun.” said Bhishma.

Giant
Parasurama liberated many living entities from their curses. One such incident is narrated in Mahabharata. Lord Parasurama was the teacher of Karna. One day after the classes were over, Lord Parasurama was relaxing on the lap of Karna who was his student and Karna was massaging his body. At that time, a very fearful bug sat on the lap of karna and started piercing his leg. It was having hairs like needle, ugly looking body and ferocious in its look. As the bug pierced, blood started flowing out of Karna's thigh and it touched Lord Parasurama who woke up by this . And he was shocked to see the blood and he looked at the bug which caused this bleeding. The moment it was glanced by Lord Parasurama, the bug passed away soaked in blood. Immediately, a big giant appeared and offered obeisance to the Lord.
The giant spoke, "O Lord, thank you so much for releasing me from the ugly body of blood sucking bug. In the Satya yuga, I was a close friend of the Bhrigu rishi and I was very powerful giant with the name Kamsa (not the kamsa in Krishna lila). One day I enjoyed the wife of Bhrigu rishi by force due to by lustful exploiting mentality. The sage became angry and cursed me to become a blood sucking bug. Then I begged for forgiveness from him and asked for way to redeem from the curse. He said that, "When you’re glanced by Lord Parasurama who will appear in our lineage, you will be free from this curse." Now by your merciful glance I'm relieved from this body and regained my original form." Stating this the giant offered pranams to the Lord and left the place.
Genocide
The violent persecution of Brahmins by Kshatriya had at the time spanned generations. Aurva, great-grandfather of Parashurama, recalled a vivid childhood experience:
While lying unborn, I heard the doleful cries of my mother and other women of the Bhrigu race who were then being exterminated by the Kshatriyas. When those Kshatriyas began to exterminate the Bhrigus together with unborn children of their race, it was then that wrath filled my soul. My mother and the other women of our race, each in an advanced state of pregnancy, and my father, while terribly alarmed, found not in all the worlds a single protector. Then when the Bhrigu women found not a single protector, my mother held me in one of her thighs. –Mahabharata 1:182

- He wanted to retire to some new land to do tápasya and so he requested god Varuna to throw up a new piece of land from the sea.
- According to another version, some sages approached him to give them some secluded land. Parasurama then made the request to Varuna for their sake. Varuna gave him a winnow (surpa) and asked him to hurl it into the sea, as he did a large territory of land was at once thrown up by the sea; It was then known by the name "Surparaka", from the word, "Surpa" meaning winnow.
